about

Originally titled the Grapevine, this is a Rob song that ended up sounding great sandwiched up against another short, similar chord progression that I had lying around. We really like when songs take detours, and never come back, so it was nice to have this one turn out in that fashion. Recording the drums was a blast too, facing off on 2 drum kits in the same room with Brad George!!! Awesome:)

Always Missing Out (The Grapevine) - Red Falcon / White lightning

Oh lord are we wasting our time?/ Living each day just trying to get by/
I'm told, a person my age should be satisfied/
With a love by my side and no reason to cry/

The saying goes keep your money for when the rain comes/
But when livin' in the desert why not piss it all away?/
Now I'm not saying to forget about tomorrow/
I'm just saying don't forget about today/

Should we make a break?(oh yeah)
Why stay for stayin's sake?(oh yeah)
(We) Aint got nothing' to lose!(oh yeah)
Let's start it over new

Says she's to scared to fly, but she doesn't even try/
If you never ever try, then how will you get high?/
And if you're never ever high, then I think your missing out/
Why you always missing out?????

Once and a while she says live your life like I do/
It's a cruel world, you know/ Stay here, love the ones around you/
T'Seems that settling' down, in small town anywhere/
Your viewpoint gets defined through, talk of the grapevine/

Are they telling' tales?(oh yeah)
Got your eyes covered in scales?(oh yeah)
They keep on holdin' you down(oh yeah)
Can't get your feet off the ground

You say your to scared to fly, but you never even try/
If you never ever try, then how will you get high?/
And if you're never ever high, then I think your missing out/
Are you always missing out?????

Oh baby can't you see that, you are more precious than the metals underground?/
They undervalue you, but silver and gold can't hold a candle to you/
Can't hold a candle to you/ Can't hold a candle to you/
